Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Day Cream Reviews

Review of Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Day Cream
By Nicky Boyd

Packaging: Rosa Fina Anti-ageing Day Cream comes in a glass jar with white plastic lid.

Application: A light, silky cream which sinks quickly into the skin.

Ingredients: The Anti-ageing Day Cream contains rosa mosqueta, an oil pressed from the hips of a wild rose that grows in the Chilean Andes. South American women have used this oil for many years as beauty oil. Rosa mosqueta contains a very high concentration of Essential Fatty Acids, used to combat signs of skin ageing plus trans-retinoic acid – a naturally occurring compound related to vitamin A - which is why it’s so great for damaged skin. The cream also contains argan oil which is produced from the nuts of the argan tree from Morocco (a very resistant tree which can live from 150 to 200 years). Argan oil has anti-ageing and natural anti-wrinkle properties. The cream also contains collagen-boasting coltsfoot (crushed flowers which are said to cure skin conditions), horsetail (an herb used in cosmetics for rejuvenation) and lady’s mantle (an herb used for toning skin). Most of Barefoot Botanicals Products contain these ingrediants.

Results: I was worried that as it’s an ‘anti-ageing’ cream it would leave my skin dry but actually my skin feels moisturised as well as toned. It dries quickly to a matt finish so it’s perfect for putting my usual mineral powder on top of it before I head off for the day. It also smells wonderful which is really important.

Pros:
Vegan
GM free
Cruelty free
100% plant origin

Cons:
None

Trilogy Cream Cleanser Reviews

Review of Trilogy Cream Cleanser
By Kelly B

Packaging: Trilogy Cream Cleanser comes in a recyclable amber glass pump action bottle. The dispenser is very convenient and can easily be operated with one hand. Tinted glass is great for product stability due to protecting it from the light. Glass is always my preferred material for my cosmetics as plastic materials can leach into the product. However as this Trilogy glass bottle is quite heavy and very smooth I feel it could be easily dropped with wet hands in the bathroom. The glass is very thick and certainly toughened so I don’t think there is much risk of it breaking if dropped. My concern is the weight as I would rather have a plastic bottle fall on my foot than this any day! So for me plastic is a bit safer in the bathroom.

Application: The texture of the Cream Cleanser is very rich and creamy. It glides onto skin in a very light fluid and non greasy way. A little goes a long way and only one pump from the dispenser is needed. The scent is very faintly floral but with the overriding aroma being rosehip oil. I wasn’t keen on the smell as I don’t think rosehip oil smells particularly nice, but the fragrance is very natural and subtle.

My skin is quite sensitive and the Cleanser felt so soothing and heavenly to massage in. No irritation at all. Plus due to a bad cold and blowing my nose the skin around my nose was very sore and damaged. It was very raw and cracked and Trilogy Cream Cleanser did not sting at all it only felt soothing. I thought this was amazing. For this reason I feel it would be an ideal cleanser for painful skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

To get the most out of the healing and nourishing ingredients each application I spent a few minutes gentle massaging the Cream Cleanser into my skin. Plus if I used it in the shower I would leave it on my face for 5 minutes to let the nourishing oils work on my face like a mask.

Trilogy Cream Cleanser can be applied to the eyes with no stinging at all. I really massaged it into my eye lashes to remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner and there was not even the slightest irritation or stinging. My eyes are so sensitive so I thought this was impressive!

I recommend removing Trilogy Cream Cleanser with a warm damp muslin cloth (or flannel) using a gentle circular action. This serves to gently exfoliate skin removing dead skin cells and adds to the healthy glow you get from the rich moisturising ingredients.

Ingredients: Trilogy Cream Cleanser is packed with soothing and nourishing ingredients. Organic Rosehip oil, due its high levels of essential fatty acids and high vitamin content is immensely hydrating and healing, reduces redness and heals broken capillaries. Evening Primrose oil with its high levels of GLA is excellent for damaged and dry skin, providing deep moisture. Almond oil and Jojoba oils further hydrate and soothe irritated skin. Carrot oil being rich in Beta-carotene is a powerful anti-oxidant, heals scarring and reduces wrinkles. Aloe vera provides extra soothing and calming qualities whilst also providing toning, healing, and anti-aging properties. Geranium oil tones and reduces redness and wrinkles, Lavender oil heals, and Frankinscence oil is anti-aging, healing, and hydrating.

All these wonderful natural ingredients are free from harmful chemicals, parabens, silicones, harsh detergents and surfactants, or PEGs and are used in most Trilogy products.

All ingredients are non GMO derived. All Natural colours and fragrances. Trilogy are against animal testing.

Results: I absolutely love this Cream Cleanser. It cleanses my sensitive (and often dry) skin so gently and soothingly yet so effectively. The oils are so creamy and non greasy, my skin drinks them in but feels supple yet light and refreshed with a dewy luminescent glow.

Trilogy cleanser makes light work of heavy makeup, even waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

I have tried many natural cleansers and Trilogy Cream Cleanser is my favourite as it removes makeup brilliantly whilst also providing a soothing nourishing treat to my face. Highly recommended!

Pros
Convenient pump action dispenser
Fantastically nourishing and hydrating
Very gentle on sensitive and damaged skin
Gentle and non stinging on eyes
Removes all makeup completely (but gently)
Gives skin dewy glow
Natural colours and fragrances
Paraben free
Non GMO

Cons
Heavy glass bottle could be dangerous in the bathroom setting
Scent is predominantly of rosehip oil (not a problem if you like the smell of rosehip oil)
Quite expensive (but the ingredients do feel really top quality).

Trevarno Revitalising Facial Oil Reviews

Review of Trevarno Revitalising Facial Oil
By Beverly S.

Packaging: Trevarno Revitalising Facial Oil comes in Trevarno's signature opaque purple glass bottle to help protect the oil with a silver screw top lid plus an integrated plastic dropper top (very useful I find this last longer than some petite pipette which can split) I love the style of the glass bottles/jars.
Detailed instructions are not included on the label but would be on the outer box

Application: As the instructions weren't on the bottle and I was keen to start before consulting any websites I used the oil in the same way I would use any face oil after cleansing/toning just before my moisturiser. Only a few drops are needed for face and décolleté.

Comments: I adore face oils therefore was delighted to receive this one although I have to admit my personal experience wasn't as expected as I felt the oil 'sitting' on my skin. Although I wasn't keen on the scent as ‘to me’ I could smell a heavier oil although on closer look of the oils used I feel it was the vanilla and the carrier oils which dominated my senses & not the smell of Rose buds which I was looking forward to.
I applied my moisturiser on top of the Revitalising Facial Oil but felt this must be a mistake as it added to the heavy feeling on my skin.

I use a rosehip oil in the daytime under my moisturiser & know this has a woody smell which I do like (others don’t) I also use an oil with neroli in the evening which has a most uplifting scent. Both types of oils disappear on contact which is why I felt this one was much richer and possibly not suited to a very fine skin like mine.

Next day I noted on one site I visited the oil seemed to be suggested as a light daytime moistu-riser which made me think again in the way I used it. I decided to apply the oil without my mois-turiser although I didn't look forward to the scent the fact I didn't add my cream on top made it feel a bit lighter although I was still aware it was on my skin. One benefit of this was I didn't feel the need for a primer or any extra moisture before application or mineral makeup! I used it like this for several days applying the oil as quickly as possible after my skin tonic as I still wasn't keen on the scent.

I went to Trevarno's site to double check my use and discovered the oil was a pre-moisturiser which meant I should have been using a cream on top and using both day and night. I tried this again and found the addition of a cream really was too heavy for my skin. I have dry/dehydrated skin which should have absorbed the oil but as with other Trevarno products I realised this was extremely rich which made it heavy for my skin which would be finer than most people's skin. I have used other products from the range and discovered quickly only the smallest amount of product is needed as they are packed full of rich ingredients. Their eye cream proved too heavy for me and I feel this oil is another which is too heavy for me. (apart from the scent which I would have tolerated if the product had disappeared)

This is only my personal experience with the oil. My skin didn't suffer any lack of moisture using it and the ingredients are organically produced. A combination of Jojoba, Rose, Vanilla & Wheatgerm making the oil rich in vitamin E which is a boost to the skin as I use it in my skincare and know the benefits.

I tested the oil throughout in different circumstances and times of day. Enjoyed the fact I didn't feel I needed anything before mineral makeup but know I couldn't layer this with cream. I did use my mineral sunscreen which is oil free.
Trevarno's oil is rich and is described as a Revitalising facial oil which would enhance anyone skin care routine who know they need extra protection.
Unfortunately as I love face oils this one wouldn't be a preference for me to fit into my routine. I did enjoy the benefit of not feeling I needed to add anything else before makeup. I must add it didn’t adversely affect makeup application despite the fact I felt it was on my skin, it helped ma-keup to glide over my skin without dryness.

Pros
I found I could use without a moisturiser and use mineral makeup on top. I have never used an oil which I felt didn’t need moisturiser over it!
Very economical to use as the smallest amount of oil is more than enough for face and décol-leté.
Trevarno are a UK-certified organic skincare range entirely free of artificial chemicals

Cons
Personally I didn't enjoy the scent which is part of the experience when using oils
Oily skin would find this heavy as my fine skin found the oil wasn't light enough to absorb. This wouldn’t be an issue for anyone who loves the scent of vanilla and may not enjoy the more floral scented oils.

Summary: Trevarno recommend the oil for all skin types & their list of ingredients is pure and refreshing although they didn't blend well with my skin. The organic nature of the ingredients & ethics of the brand emphasises the quality & richness of each product in the range which I sometimes find too rich for my skin.
