Review of Living Nature’s Tinted Moisturiser
By Beverley S.
Packaging: Living Nature Tinted Moisturiser comes in a stylish black box with black plastic bottle, half moon shaped flip top dispenser.
Reminded me of a mainstream makeup line which definitely doesn’t have the skin caring ingredients found in Living Nature products.
Reassuring to know the tinted moisturiser is 100% natural, GM free and not tested on animals
Living Nature is known to be one of the world’s truly natural skincare and cosmetic ranges, with the ability to blend science and nature for products which work on all levels similar to normal cosmetics without harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients.
Application: I was excited to find a makeup product to test with the added benefits of skin caring ingredients. Whilst I don’t wear heavy makeup I am like everyone else always looking for the makeup which is double duty in keeping my skin looking ‘like me’ but better with caring ingredients.
The ingredients are rich in moisture which is a bonus some makeup can leave a dry/caked look after they have settled on my skin. Worse still a lot of shades turn orange/yellow which is totally unattractive! I like to keep my skin with a natural look with the help of makeup. Living Nature was perfect for both. I normally find a range with only two to three shades too ‘coloured’ for my pale skin making me look as if I have been in the sun but turned orange. Although when I dispensed Living Nature’s tinted moisturiser appeared dark my initial worries were unfounded when I used a very small amount my skin looked dewy with a slight colour (enough to even out the tone without looking ‘made up’)
I tried a foundation brush and another shaped sponge I have to even the tint out over my face. Bothe methods were fine although towards the end of my testing I came to the conclusion that using my fingers was the best way. I lightly patted it on my skin or followed the advice to use light movements sweeping with my fingertips. Even if some of the tint was absorbed the ingredients are 100% natural and the vital moistursing ingredients really help the skin’s balance. The ingredients helped my skin’s texture/comfort whilst keeping the colour tone even.
Comments: I wasn’t sure and didn’t feel I would like to use this instead of my moisturiser although this is entirely acceptable as the ingredients including New Zealand’s famous Manuka Honey, Macadamia seed oil to name just two are rich in moisture. I followed my normal routine in the morning including my moisturiser followed a short time later with Living Nature’s tinted moisturiser. I preferred to pat it on my skin similar to a foundation rather than let my skin absorb the tint. I also tried using a facial serum then the tinted moisturiser which was excellent too as I knew my skin was receiving the extra care with the tinted moisturiser to maintain the moisture. This would be the way I would use it in the summer months when ‘double cream’ may be too much.
I used a mineral suncream, this is important as the product itself doesn’t show any SPF factor although Titanium dioxide and Zinc are listed as ‘may include’ I maintained my normal mineral SPF cream. I applied this before the tint and I also mixed it with my SPF cream which made the colour very even on my skin. An SPF mineral powder should work too although Living Nature don’t include advice on this.
Results: I have tried tinted moisturisers before and have never been happy with them as most have been too dark. Living Nature’s has been very pleasant to use, there is a scent but it comes from the natural ingredients the most important one being Manuka honey. Most Living Nature Products contain this ingredient and I feel this helped to keep my skin feeling comfortable all day and at no time did my skin feel taught or dry. I used my own mineral powder on top although Living Nature have an illuminating mineral which would be perfect to give a lasting finish. I also had days when I didn’t use a powder. The natural glow on my skin was commented on, a boost to my confidence.
Pros
Skin care ingredients yet a moistursing makeup
A good percentage of ingredients 100% Certified Organic
Confidence boosting natural finish perfect for an even tone finish
All skin types (oily skins would use this cream alone)
I would buy and would consider other make up from this brand
Cons
No SPF factor stated some may find the addition of an SPF cream too heavy especially in summer
I preferred to use a moisturiser or serum due to the fact I considered this more of a skin caring makeup.
