Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut Rescue Reviews

Review of Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut Rescue

By Louise M

Packaging: Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut Rescue comes in a pack of three small glass phials with rubber droppers in the lid. The packaging looks quite clinical, but very chic – it certainly looks as though the contents of the bottle are going to do you good! I was pleased to find that not only did the packaging look good, but it was also sturdy enough to be kept in a makeup bag or handbag without spilling everywhere.

Application: This is the first serum of its kind which I have tried and I was impressed with the application. It is an oil rather than a gel, but a thick and viscous oil which felt very moisturising when I massaged it onto my skin. In spite of being an oil however, it did sink into my skin relatively quickly. It was great under my usual night-time moisturiser but I needed to apply it well in advance of my makeup in the morning. At this time of year when my skin is getting stressed and chapped I found it most useful as an intensive overnight repair treatment, also because it initially smells quite ‘oily’ I was most comfortable using it at bedtime.

Ingredients: Luzern Laboratories Products pride themselves on only using the very purest ingredients which are organically certified to the impressive ‘Bio-Swiss’ standard. Nor will you find any preservatives in their products. This is good news if your skin suffers from eczema or rosacea or simply from the winter blues; long lists of synthetic additives can only exacerbate irritated skin. The Serum Rescue Absolut only contains five ingredients including extracts of olive oil and rosehip oil. The fact that they have a ‘no animal testing’ policy is also worth a special mention.

Results: Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut Rescue claims to soothe and repair dry and irritated skin, restore the skin’s natural barrier and diminish fine lines. It certainly did soothe my skin when I applied it and the patches of tight, dry skin immediately eased away. Even on my very sensitive skin there was no irritation, and I do feel as though it helped to improve the overall texture of my skin. I imagine that with prolonged use this serum could also help to improve or maintain the skin’s elasticity which would help with the signs of aging and would be a good preventative measure to add to a skincare routine; it would also make a great oil for a luxurious facial massage.

Pros:

Great for treating a range of different skin issues: irritation, dry skin, scars and aging

Feels very soothing when applied

A portable rescue for treating stressed skin on the go

Cons:

Smells quite ‘oily’ although the scent doesn’t linger on the skin

May be too oily for wearing under makeup for some skin types
